Maternity Testing
Maternity Testing
Testing can be performed without the biological father (a maternity test) if a legal guardian submits the child for testing. Maternity DNA testing determines whether the alleged mother could be the biological mother of a child. The results of the DNA Maternity test will indicate either inclusion or exclusion. Results indicating inclusion means the alleged mother is considered the biological mother of the child (with Identity Solutions guarantee of at least a 99.99% probability of maternity). Results indicating exclusion mean the alleged mother is not the biological mother of the child, thus guaranteeing a 100% certainty of exclusion. Maternity testing can be useful in the following circumstances:- To confirm an adoptee has been reunited with his/her birth mother
- In immigration cases to prove biological relationships.
- For situations in which a possible baby switch has occurred in the nursery
- For in vitro fertilization to confirm that the correct embryo was implanted into the correct mother.
